The organisers of the National Fruit Show, the Marden Fruit Show Society, are delighted to announce that entry will again be free for visitors to the UK’s premier Fruit event which will be held at the Kent Event Centre, Detling, Maidstone, on 19th and 20th October. The Show attracts the biggest names in the fruit sector and sees thousands of visitors from the industry attend each year.
This year’s show has almost 100 businesses exhibiting over the two days with several coming from Europe. In addition to the free entry for visitors, the National Fruit Show produces a Show Guide and Handbook which all competitors, exhibitors and visitors will receive free of charge.
This well respected booklet has been used by many people in the industry as a source of information not previously circulated, giving the wider audience an insight into the growing season, advancements and topics that are of interest to the sector. The free handbook also details some interesting contributions from some of the industry’s leading scientists with results from canker, codling moth and pollinator trials plus an informative article about extending the storage season for the UK’s best selling apple, Gala. The handbook includes pieces about blackcurrants, JazzTM production, storage regimes and an interesting public survey spanning 20 years.
