New machinery and exhibitors for a vibrant Show

Each year the National Fruit Show showcases the latest machinery and innovation available to the fruit sector. In the last decade rapid developments in the horticultural sector has allowed UK growers to embrace advances that ensure consumers are able to buy quality fruit with excellent taste for an extended season.

Other advances including new varieties, alternative growing technics and dynamic equipment and processes have also assisted growers in the UK to take a greater market share. All this means that growers are able to strategically plan their crops and manage their storage therefore controlling the speed of marketing, which is great news for customers and also for the bottom line for the industry.

Table-top strawberry production ensured reduced picking costs, higher yields, increased production and better control of pests and diseases. In other areas of fruit production the plant breeding, plant pathology, research into diseases and storage technology are paramount to ensure the industry will meet the demands of a growing population.

The National Fruit Show has always sought to include the innovators who are taking our industry forward, to this end Ultra Soil Solutions will be attending the Show for the first time this year. The company has offered a range of products for the soft fruit industry and worked closely with a number of the countries leading agronomists to complete nutritional support systems for top fruit.

QTS Analytical is another new exhibitor specialising in the analysis of pesticide residues in fresh produce, food products and many other matrices. Laboratory QTS based at East Malling Research has developed new techniques with quality at the forefront. The company believe that speed of results is imperative to enable them to provide results for the majority of pesticide residues.

Core Equipment Ltd provides professional equipment with a technical advantage that can make a real difference to productivity and costs for juice and cider producers. Core is the UK distributor for Austrian manufacturer Kreuzmayr range of equipment including washers, elevators, mills, belt presses, de-stoning machines and fruit bin tippers.
