The Story Behind Our Mighty Apple

The Story Behind Our Mighty Apple

You may be surprised to spot a giant red apple in residence at the National Fruit Show. The apple is 1.7m high from base to the tip of the stem with a diameter of approximately 5.6m. It is constructed from fibreglass, hand-painted, and was produced by Aboveline Ltd. We felt that the National Fruit Show society would be the perfect home for this striking object, and luckily they felt the same. We understand that excellent crops of apples have been predicted this year, so how appropriate to have a bumper-sized display?

So you might ask, what was Aboveline doing with a giant apple?

We are an exhibitions and events company based in leafy Cheshire with a diverse customer base attending events and exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe. We design, manage, build and install bespoke exhibition stands, new office spaces, installations and anything 3D to help our clients bring their brands and company images to life. The apple was created for our own exhibition stand at Marketing Week Live in 2013 and was positioned on the pages of an open book with ‘A is for Apple and Aims’ written alongside. The idea was to show the power of using 3 Dimensions to communicate, and to demonstrate our creative approach to meeting aims and objectives. Of course not everyone wants a giant apple on their stand! One thing we think that the exhibitors here and our many clients will agree though, is that you cannot beat seeing, touching or tasting products, and face-to-face conversations to conduct business. We are celebrating 30 years in the Exhibitions industry this year. The business is owned by our founder Christine Noblett. Christine trained as a designer and developed the business when she realised that to achieve the best results for her clients, she needed to be in charge of the whole process from idea to realisation. We too understand the need to get the fundamentals right in terms of our approach, in order to grow and maintain our business.

We are delighted to see our beloved apple go to a new home and for it to be playing a part in promoting what is the very best of the British Fruit Industry. We hope exhibitors and visitors alike have an extremely successful event, and don’t forget, if anyone is looking for a fruity installation or a bit of advice on exhibiting, please do give us a call.
