Love British Cider?

Love British cider? We’re looking for Britain’s best Ciders in our 'Love Cider' competition and we need your nominations. Voted for entirely by the British cider- drinking public, this is your chance to champion your favourite. The judges for the 2022 final will be bon-viveur Nigel Barden and international beer and cider judge Melissa Cole. In return for sending us your nomination, you can win a case of your favourite cider should your nominated drink win.

Please note you must be 18 years or over to enter, votes will be verified by email after the closing date and the winner will be asked for proof of age. How do I vote? By following the National Fruit Show on our social media channels (Facebook / Twitter @nationalfruit)) you can nominate a cider in one – or all of the following categories:

  • Traditional Cider
  • Pear cider
  • Mixed blend (apple or pear plus any other fruit, flower or aromatic ingredient)

You can vote for three different ciders (one for each class) or if you have one firm favourite you can just use one vote. The National Fruit Show’s cider competition is kindly sponsored by crop nutrition company Engage Agro-Europe (EAE) who are experts in apple tree nutrition – they help those apples taste a little bit better in the bottle. With the same passion for taste that marks out cider lovers, Engage Agro Europe focus on nurturing cider apple trees to optimise their full potential. This means the trees and their harvested apples provide cider drinkers with the liquid gold they’re looking for. The winning cider producer in each of our three classes will receive £100 and a trophy (to be held for one year), plus a prestigious winners logo to use on their website, label or packaging. When we have collated all the nominations, the most popular ciders in each class will go through to our panel of enthusiastic cider drinkers and experts for independent tasting and judging. Judging takes place on the 21st September 2022, Voting closes on 21st August 2022. *Each vote will go into a Prize Draw and one lucky winner will win a case of their favourite cider.
