The organising committee of the National Fruit Show are pleased to announce that they are again able to offer visitors free entry to the 2012 Show (17th & 18th October). The Society’s charitable aims are to ‘promote excellence in the fruit industry’ commented Show Chair, Sarah Calcutt, ‘it is important that our show remains accessible to as many people as possible’.
With more students than ever anticipated at the Show, every encouragement to view the diversity of the sector should be offered. The 2012, 79th Show, will also see the inclusion of a conference for the first time, headlined by Professor David Hughes of Imperial University, the event will begin with a global view of the produce industry. Speakers will also comment on at dynamic business development, product innovation, variety impact on the market place and business management on day one. Education, propagation, pesticide approvals and grafting will be topic presentations on day two.
The inaugural conference ‘how growers grow’ has been made possible through the kind sponsorship of Whitehead Monkton solicitors.
Online registration for both the 79th show and the conference will be available for the first time, via the National Fruit show website – this facility will enable visitors to log on and register during August, September and October.
The 2012 National Fruit Show will take place on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 October at the Kent Event Centre, Detling, Maidstone. The Show Dinner will be held at Turkey Mill, Maidstone and sponsored by Hadlow College and OrchardWorld.
