Paramour Farm, Highland Court Farms, near Canterbury, Kent was the 2009 lucky winner of the National Fruit Show Bonanza prize. Every year the Bonanza Prize rewards the best entries to the apple and pear competitions with the chance to win a fabulous trip to learn more about different aspects of the fruit industry. The award is sponsored by a different industry leading company each year, tapping into their fields of expertise and their contacts abroad.
This year’s Bonanza Prize is sponsored by Scorpion Engineering and represents an opportunity for the winner to take a break from top fruit growing to see a different but related industry – viticulture. Entitled “Chablis & Champagne”, the prize will comprise an all expenses paid, six day tour for two people of these two fascinating regions of France, including vineyard tours and tastings. The visit is provisionally set to take place during June 2010 (exact dates to be agreed with the winners).
Scorpion’s Rob Kendall says; “Having supported the show since 1994 and seen it growing in importance as the industry’s premier promotional event, we are delighted to be this year’s Bonanza Prize sponsor. During the same period we have seen our own profile within the fruit store building sector increase dramatically. We are pleased to have the opportunity to offer support to the National Fruit Show from which we have benefitted as an exhibitor over the last 15 years.”
